After being with Inside Out Community for 7 years, our friend and colleague Lois Cordelia is leaving us. Lois has been a stalwart supporter of the Community since 2016. From her very first day she has been invaluable and was instrumental in our work towards Pride in Practice status.
Inside Out Community would like to thank Lois for her unswerving support and commitment to the Community. We wish her and partner Jason all the very best for the future.
We are delighted to say that the vacancy of Programme Leader will be taken by Karen Densham. Karen has also been with Inside Out Community since 2016. She brings with her a wealth of experience along with her own sparkling creativity.
Inside Out Community would like to extend our formal Congratulations to Karen. We are so looking forward to sharing this new chapter of her creative journey.
Here are Lois and Karen to say a few words.
Lois:
“Please welcome our wonderful artist Karen as your new Programme Leader, alongside Allan!
I’m sorry to say that I will be leaving my current role as Programme Leader at Inside Out Community in mid March, as my partner and I are relocating to Wales.
I first worked with IOC as an artist in 2016, and became a Programme Leader in 2020. Working here has been rewarding, inspiring and humbling to see the positive impact that the organisation has on the lives of so many. I shall miss you all, staff, trustees, members, volunteers and artists, but I feel very reassured to know that Karen is stepping into my shoes. My love and heartfelt thanks to you all.”
Karen:
“I’m thrilled to be taking over the Program Leader post from the inspirational Lois and look forward to working alongside the equally gifted Allan.
I’ve been lucky enough to have been involved with the Inside Out Community since 2016 as an associate artist, and more recently as a hub support.
I’ve always been enamoured by art and its potency to provide routes to wellbeing and aid healing, and through the creative workshops provided by Inside Out I have witnessed first hand how art can bring about change to benefit the lives of the Inside Out community members.
As a practicing artist I feel blessed to have the opportunity to be working in such a creative and supportive environment and look forward to sharing my artistic skills, as well as learning new ones from the brilliant members and the Inside Out team.”
