Singing with Music In Our Bones

This week for our Creative Wellbeing Art Studio (11am – 1pm) on Friday 1st March we are welcoming back the spectacular Music In Our Bones.

Music In Our Bones is a registered charity that provides harmony singing workshops to foster a sense of community for those struggling with both physical and mental health in order to tackle isolation.

As a collective, they are passionate about the power of music, that everyone should have the chance to sing with others, and that singing is an ancient, accessible art form that has enabled people to make music as they work and celebrate, to feel connected to one another, and to feel stronger. Especially the idea that singing in harmony with others allows deeper connections with our own emotional and spiritual lives, as well as offering a profound sense of connection with others.

The aim of their workshops is to create a sense of safety and acceptance in a friendly and welcoming environment. Everyone sits in a circle; there are no rows of seats or auditions; people can try singing different parts in the same session; it’s all about being curious about your voice, there are no rights or wrongs or grading. It’s accessible to all because they teach by ear, with no music to read and absolutely no performances or rehearsals.

For more information about Music In Our Bones, please visit their website as well as follow them on Facebook to find out what workshops they have coming up next!

Come along and join us at our Creative Wellbeing Art Studio (11am – 1pm) on Friday 1st March at Eastern Angles Centre to see what it’s all about. No need to book; just come along!
