Creative Writing with Elelia Ferro

Our next Creativity to Wellbeing Pathway workshop on Monday 11thMarch (2pm– 4pm) is being led by the wonderfully talented Elelia Ferro.

Elelia is a poet from Wivenhoe, Essex who is currently completing her Creative Writing PhD research examining ‘How We Live in Essex’. She innovatively uses interviews and workshops with local people to craft as narratives to challenge the stereotypes of an ‘Essex Girl’ and ‘Essex Boy’.

She was previously the Writer in Residence for Colchester’s Firstsite Gallery, where she worked with Colchester and Ipswich Museums and the extended community. She was also the Poet in Residence for Essex County Council’s project, ‘Snapping The Stiletto’ where she worked with communities and museums to retell the stories of Essex women from over the past 100 years.

Elelia has a wealth of experiences both academically and in the media industry working for Channel 4 and other media companies. She has a Masters degree in Creative Writing from the University of Essex for which she was awarded a distinction. She has also completed Postgraduate studies in Psychodynamic Approaches, as well as gaining a Masters degree in Journalism, receiving distinctions in both fields.

If you enjoyed Elelia’s workshop, please consider her Monthly Monday Morning Poetry Workshop (please be aware that this workshop takes place in Essex and does carry a cost).

Come along and join us at our Creativity to Wellbeing Pathway workshop on Monday 4th March (2pm– 4pm) at Eastern Angles Centre to flex your creative writing muscles. No need to book; just come along!
