This week’s workshop will be looking at the use of silhouettes in art. A silhouette, is a shape made up of a block colour, usually black. The technique was particularly popular in the 18th and 19th Centuries when it was commonly used for facial portraits or cameos. In more recent years it has become a technique used frequently in photography.
